We’re excited to share meaningful progress on Skippers: The Awakening, the first instalment in our planned three-book Pokeytummy series. After months of storytelling, illustration, and careful world-building, the full first draft is now complete alongside all page visuals. The project has moved into the proofreading stage, where the focus shifts to refining the language, sharpening the pacing, and ensuring each illustration sits naturally within the rhythm and tone of the narrative.

Skippers opens the door to a rich and imaginative universe filled with curious characters, quiet mysteries, and a sense of wonder that will unfold across the wider trilogy. This first book lays the foundation for a much larger journey, one that will gradually expand the world of Pokeytummy while deepening its emotional and visual storytelling.

As we move forward, attention turns to final refinements, thoughtful layout design for both print and digital formats, and early planning around how the story will begin to meet its audience. It’s a significant milestone for the project and an exciting moment for the growing Pokeytummy universe. There is still work ahead, but the Skippers are waking — and their journey is beginning to take shape.
